Choosing and caring for your hooks
When replacing lure hooks, check the lure maker’s recommended hook size and weight. A larger hook can change a lure’s balance, action and buoyancy. Check split-ring compatibility and ensure the hooks can move freely without catching each other.
After a saltwater session, rinse your hooks in fresh water and let them dry before storage. Inspect the points, barbs and rings regularly, and replace worn or damaged hooks.
